FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Plain White T’s Head Home For The Holidays For
“Hometown Throwdown”
Holiday Homecoming Show To Take Place At The Genessee Theatre In
Waukegan, IL on December 28
New York, NY (October 7, 2016) – The Grammy-nominated Plain White T’s announced today that they will be heading home for the holidays for a special, one night only performance for their fans, friends and family. The band will be playing all of their hits during their “Hometown Throwdown” which is scheduled to take place at the Genessee Theatre in Waukegan, IL on December 28, 2016. Tickets for the show will go on sale on October 14, 2016. Check out the band’s website or go here for more information.
Plain White T’s kicked off their career in the Chicago suburbs, playing a mix of pop, punk, and melody-driven rock & roll in basements and clubs across the metro area. Their debut album was released in 2000, but it wasn’t until their third album hit stores in 2006 that the band shot to stardom. In 2007, with the help of their #1 hit single “Hey There Delilah,” the band reached platinum status and received two Grammy nominations. The song won a Teen Choice Award that year and helped the band get nominated for both an American Music Award and MTV Video Music Award. The band continued to see success with follow up albums and singles including “1234” and “Rhythm of Love” which were both certified platinum in 2009 and 2011, respectively.
Now, 15 years after their humble beginnings and with several thousand shows under their belts, the guys continue to dream up new sounds and tour, delighting crowds young and old with their hit filled show and gracious Midwestern charm.  Five years after the release of their last album, they’ve upped the ante by striking out on their own as an independent band, returning to their basement studio to put the finishing touches on their most recent release,
American Nights. Even during the band’s days with Fearless and Hollywood Records, they thrived on doing things their own way. That’s what the Plain White T’s have always been about.
