ERIC BENET & “BLUE” BACK IN BUSINESS

Grammy Nominated Singer Signs with Primary Wave Talent Management

NEW YORK, NY (5/5/2011) – Joining recording artist Cee Lo Green and teen sensation Cody Simpson, Grammy Nominated R&B singer Eric Benet has signed a management deal with New York City-based Primary Wave Talent Management (www.PrimaryWaveMusic.com). This new management deal reunites Benet with veteran artist manager Michael “Blue” Williams, who successfully worked with Benet in the past and will now be spearheading Primary Wave’s efforts. The signing follows Benet’s most recent success with the release of his fifth studio album Lost In Time (November 2010) featuring the first single “Sometimes I Cry”, which reached #1 on the Hot Adult R&B Songs Chart. This year, Benet will also make his lead acting debut in the film Trinity Goodheart, premiering in July 2011 at the Black American Film Festival in Miami, FL.

“Eric and I worked together before and both felt we had some unfinished business,” says Michael “Blue” Williams, CEO of Primary Wave Talent Management. “He is a great artist and I have no doubt that he will benefit from Primary Wave’s abundance of marketing and branding resources.”

“Eric is an immense talent who has achieved enormous critical acclaim and success. We look forward to focusing our marketing machine toward building Eric’s brand to even greater heights in the future”, commented Larry Mestel, CEO of Primary Wave Music.

Best known for his charting music and acting career, Eric Benet first came onto the scene with 1996’s True To Myself. In 1999, Benet released A Day In The Life, containing the single “Spend My Life with You” featuring Tamia, which reached #1 on the R&B charts, was certified gold, and nominated for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group at the 2000 Grammy Awards along with a Soul Train Music Award for Best R&B/Soul Album Male. In 2004, Benet released his third and pensive album Hurricane followed by the two-time Grammy nominated album Love & Life in 2008. This album, which was nominated for Best R&B album and Best Male R&B performance at the 2009 Grammy Awards, debuted at #11 on the Billboard Top 200 album chart and also included the crowd-favorite “Chocolate Legs” and the Urban AC radio smash, “You’re The Only One.”  As an actor, Benet appeared in the film Glitter in 2001 with Mariah Carey as well as starred in the television series’ “Half & Half” and “For Your Love.”

“I could not be more excited about what is to come with Primary Wave,” says Benet. “Working with Blue again was a natural choice; I know he understands me and will help to bring ample opportunities to the table.”

Benet’s signing marks the latest addition to Primary Wave’s diverse and ever-growing Talent Management roster including Grammy Award Winning artist Cee Lo Green, teen sensation Cody Simpson, international rock-violinist David Garrett, Danish metal band Volbeat and most recently, DJ and radio personality, DJ Skee.
