Sync Director & Sync Manager

We are looking for two exceptional Creative Sync Licensing executives to join our team, one in New York and one in Los Angeles. 

The Sync Director position in our New York office is advertising-focused, and the ideal candidate has 7+ years experience in pitching for ad-sync, or in music supervision for advertising. Should have established relationships within the licensing/creative community and a proven track record generating creative opportunities/campaigns.


The Sync Manager position based in our Los Angeles office is focused on creating sync opportunities across film, TV, trailer, video games as well as advertising. The ideal candidate has a minimum of 4 years experience pitching for sync, and an established network in the creative sync community.

Digital Marketing Manager

In this dynamic role, we will rely on you to develop and execute innovative digital marketing campaigns for our company and artist roster. More specifically, responsibilities will include the following:

  • Develop overall digital strategy and build/execute innovative campaigns to further our artists’ data capture, sales, and advertising goals, and react to social analytics in order to improve the success of these campaigns.
  • Develop creative out of the box ideas and campaigns
  • Create and manage internal communication decks as required
  • Create social media content calendars and monitor all social media pages
  • Direct and manage relations with internal digital team as well as 3rd party partners and agency clients
  • Using insights, analytics & consumer insights to inform effective marketing initiatives and decisions
  • Direct and approve creative processes for all internal and external marketing collateral
  • Work closely with internal talent management & publishing teams to develop and maximize opportunities
  • Manage artist web properties, e-commerce stores with any updates, SEO optimization, and keyword usage.
  • Track and interpret data to compile reports for clients and others as needed
  • Create tracking links for campaigns, and communicate learnings as appropriate.
  • Develop relationships & secure promotions with online properties and technology platforms
  • Assess new technologies, partners and develop new opportunities
  • Manage digital paid media campaigns with media agency, agents and labels
  • Manage email marketing communications for artists throughout projects
  • Assist with basic in-house graphic design and video needs across all Primary Wave departments
  • Ensure best practices are used with attention to new digital trends and platform updates


  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience working in the music or entertainment fields managing digital marketing campaigns and relationships with digital and social partners.
  • Expert, native user of social media platforms.
  • Creative, outside-the-box type thinking
  • Strong communication and presentation skills. Ability to read an audience and develop a communication strategy depending on that audience.
  • Commitment to working 24/7 where needed and long hours where necessary.
  • Must be comfortable working in an environment with many changeable demands and priorities, requiring scheduling flexibility, positive demeanor and a “can do” attitude
  • A passion for music and live events, interest in understanding how content performs, leveraging available platforms and data
  • A natural storyteller who understands the brand DNA, voice, and aesthetics
  • Strong organizational and copywriting skills, a collaborative team player who is focused on achieving results
  • Excellent attention to detail, including grammar and spelling
  • Proficiency in Photoshop, Video Editing Programs (Final Cut Pro, Premiere, etc.) and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.) and Basic HTML experience is a major bonus
  • Highly organized, self-initiative, and able to work in a collaborative manner across numerous active artist campaigns.

Digital Design Intern (New York, NY – Spring 2020)

Primary Wave Entertainment is seeking college students to participate in our internship program in either the New York or Los Angeles office. The Digital Design Intern will produce marketing content for Primary Wave clients including social media graphics, ads, and gifs, and will work closely with the digital marketing department to assist with social media campaigns.


  • Passionate about music and the marketing & promotion of it!
  • Marketing, Graphic Design, Fine Art, or Visual Communications majors preferred
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign is a major plus!
  • Excellent time management skills with an ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in photo retouching is a major plus!
  • Experience with HTML layout and/or email layout is a major plus!


  • Assist with the creation of social media and website assets
  • Brainstorm unique and engaging concepts to assist the marketing department with campaign creation

  • Assist the publicity department with gathering press materials, tour press, etc.
  • Communicate and build relationships with current or prospective clients
  • Support the team in college outreach
  • Perform research activities


  • Students should be interested in all aspects of public relations/publicity.
  • Experience in tour press releases
  • Skill in pitching, writing pitches a plus.
  • Solid understanding of the different social networks

Publishing Intern (New York, NY – Spring 2020) 

Please see below for a breakdown of requirements and responsibilities:


– Gathering song streaming performance data and analyzing roster and catalog information
– Measuring audience sizes and following of various labels, publishers and specific artists

-Ability to critique a song and give notes / creative input

Branding and Marketing Intern (New York, NY – Spring 2020) 

Primary Wave is seeking to hire an intern in NYC to focus on Branding and Marketing.


To support our music publishing catalog business by identifying marketing opportunities that will result in increasing the net publishing shares for that catalog.  This is a huge priority when working at a music publishing company and the work could include the assistance in any one of the following areas listed below:

  • Assist in the creation of marketing materials including pitch decks, artist one-sheets, and sizzle reels
  • Conduct brand/agency research in an effort to identify potential partnerships and appropriate contacts
  • Performing an analysis of our artists to ascertain artist history and demographic data
  • Contribute to team ideation sessions for potential new artists/catalog initiatives
  • Assist team in liaising with other departments including synch team, artist managers, and digital design
  • Perform standard clerical tasks including scheduling, asset organization, and business-related errands.
  • Assist in the execution of event marketing activations (sponsorships) and company events


  • Have experience in Photoshop/Illustrator/Creative suite software
  • Proficient in Microsoft office suite
  • Familiarity with Marketing, advertising, brand licensing, event activations and sponsorships


Event management may be a possible opportunity during your tenure as an intern.  While there are no guarantees, we may invite you to participate in on-site event activation for a brand or Primary Wave event where you’ll learn new skills on activation and planning.  This work may entail;

  • Sourcing third-party cost
  • On-site management include set up and tear down of materials
  • Contributing to creative ideas for activation elements
  • Building presentation materials and researching brands for possible sponsorship opportunities
