Bobby Hebb
Robert Von “Bobby” Hebb (July 26, 1938 ‒ August 3, 2010) is a legendary singer, songwriter, and musician. Bobby’s biggest hit, “Sunny,” though uplifting and bright, was written in the wake of tragedies, JFK’s assassination and on the following day, the fatal stabbing of his brother outside a Nashville club. “Sunny” ranked #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the US and earned a spot performing on the Beatles’ final American tour. In 2004, Hebb was presented a “6 Million-Air Certification” for “Sunny” for being one the most recorded songs in pop music and amongst the top 40 compositions in BMI’s repertoire of 4.5 million musical works.
