PRIMARY WAVE ANNOUNCES VETERAN
MUSIC MANAGER ROBBY HOFFMAN HAS JOINED ITS
TALENT MANAGEMENT DIVISION
New York, NY (June 7, 2022) – Primary Wave has announced today that veteran music manager Robby Hoffman has joined its talent management division. Hoffman brings over 30 years of music industry and management experience to the company and will focus on expanding the company’s already impressive roster of management clients that includes Melissa Etheridge, Cypress Hill, CeeLo Green, Fantasia, Salt-N-Pepa, Aly & AJ, and others. Robby currently manages the Grammy-nominated rock band Extreme which has sold over 10 million records worldwide. The band has just completed a new record slated for a 2023 release. Extreme will be hitting the road this summer on select dates including a sold-out hometown show with Aerosmith at the legendary stadium, Fenway Park.
Robby and his clients will now have access to Primary Wave’s talent management infrastructure which includes an in-house press division, A&R/writer-producer relations team, branding division, digital strategy group, as well as our in-house film, television, video game, commercial advertising, and TV development team.
“I am thrilled to join the impressive team at Primary Wave,” says Robby. He continues, “As the business evolves, artists are seeking new and innovative ideas from their management team and there is no better company than Primary Wave to leverage these opportunities. I am thankful for Larry Mestel and the executive team for bringing me into the fold and look forward to a successful relationship.”
Primary Wave’s Chief Content Officer Natalia Nastaskin oversees the talent management division and adds, “We’re excited to welcome Robby and his exceptional artists to Primary Wave. I and many of our senior colleagues have known Robby for years and have admired his passionate and uncompromising approach to talent management. We look forward to growing and enhancing our management practice in collaboration with Robby and his vast network of artists and industry professionals.”
Born and raised in New York, Robby Hoffman has over 30 years of experience in the music business. Robby started as a guitar player and graduated from Berklee College of Music in Boston with a degree in Professional Music. 4 months after graduating, his band In The Pink signed a record contract with Epic Records. Although the deal was short-lived, Robby co-wrote their song “Under Summer Skies” which went #1 on rock radio charts in multiple markets.
After the band broke up, Robby pursued a different path and set his sights on Wall Street where he spent 7 years working for an investment bank, managing money for high-net-worth individuals. As his heart remained in music, in 2005 Robby left Wall Street and founded One Music Management which was the music division of One Management in NYC. As Founder and President, Robby was responsible for overseeing all artist management for the company. Current and former artists managed by Robby include Courtney Love, Ratt, Extreme, Nuno Bettencourt, Alexandra Savior and Spacehog/Arckid.
