PRIMARY WAVE MUSIC PARTNERS WITH ELECTRONIC DANCE MUSIC EXPERT HOSH GURELI

Developing a New Home for Chart Topping EDM Talent

NEW YORK, N.Y. (June 5, 2012) — It’s all or nothing when breaking into the world of Electronic Dance Music (EDM) and Primary Wave Music, one of the largest independent music publishing, marketing and talent management companies in the United States, has gone ALL in by partnering with A&R Veteran & EDM expert Hosh Gureli. As a pioneer in EDM before the mainstream music industry even knew what EDM stood for, Hosh is joining Primary Wave as the team’s resource and expert for Electronic Dance Music.  In this capacity, Hosh will cultivate Primary Wave’s current EDM roster, and will continue to discover, develop, manage and publish DJs, artists, writers, remixers and producers, making Primary Wave Music (PWM) a prime destination for EDM talent. After 25 years in the industry, Hosh, whose company HOSHG has developed into a brand of its own, is known for having his hand in the construction of some of the greatest EDM hits of all-time, ranging from Swedish House Mafia‘s “Leave the World Behind” featuring Deborah Cox to Whitney Houston‘s hit dance mix of “It’s Not Right ”¦ But It’s Ok,” and many more.

“The industry has changed drastically both economically and creatively and the only way to thrive is to stay current and deliver career artists with original hits, live appeal and exceptional brand-ability. I was attracted to Primary Wave Music because they share this forward-thinking mind set”, states Hosh Gureli. “I’m confident that our combined expertise will open the door to infinite possibilities within & beyond EDM.”

Continuing to dominate the top of the charts, over the last month one of Hosh’s top producers Papercha$er, landed THREE consecutive #1 remixes on the Billboard Club Chart from the remix of Rihanna‘s “Where Have You Been” (6/09 chart) to Karmin‘s “Broken Hearted” (6/02 chart) to Jennifer Lopez‘s “Dance Again” (5/26 chart). Papercha$er will be performing at Chicago’s Spring Awakening Music Festival on June 17th along with Afrojack, Skrillex, & Diplo among others. In addition to Papercha$er, Hosh is also bringing other established talent to the Primary Wave roster including: Audien, a producer/DJ/remixer/writer, whose new exclusive Beatport release of “These Are The Days” featuring Ruby Prophet is currently soaring on the Beatport Chart and will be released wide on June 5th. Additionally, Audien’s song “Keep This Memory” is currently featured on Armin Van Buuren‘s “A State of Trance 2012” compilation; DATABOY, the 23-year-old male pop production duo, who are drawing comparisons to Dr. Luke & Steve Mac and recently released their new EP “Summer Now”. At Primary Wave, Hosh will continue to manage and develop his current roster as well as aggressively search for the next generation of hit DJs, Producers, Writers & Artists to add to the PWM roster and dominate the charts.

“When I started my search for the best executive to shepherd Primary Wave into the EDM world, I immediately set my heart on recruiting the best there is”¦Hosh Gureli. He is an incomparable talent magnet and has been revered within the Electronic Dance community for years”, states Seth Faber, Director of Marketing/Artist Development at Primary Wave Music, who actively recruited Hosh and will work closely alongside him on artist development and marketing in the EDM space.

“We are very excited to be partnering with Hosh — his relationships in the creative community compliment our core business.  Hosh will tap into our roster of talent, whether that be our management artists, or writer/producers on the publishing side, to facilitate exciting collaborations to create chart topping hits!” states Justin Shukat, General Manager of Primary Wave Music.

Hosh Gureli has always had a lifelong love for Electronic Dance Music. He started his career as one of Boston’s leading DJ’s in the mid-80s with residencies at famed clubs like Metro, Axis, DV8, and Paradise. He later moved to San Francisco to be the radio Music Director for KMEL, the nation’s 4th largest radio market. Together with Keith Naftaly, RCA Records’ current A&R honcho, Hosh created a new format, turning KMEL into the country’s first Rhythm and Crossover station.  Additionally, Hosh created & hosted KMEL Underground, a mixshow featuring a myriad of EDM trailblazers.  Later, Hosh took on underground mix show duties at New York’s Hot 97. Then in 1993, Hosh was hired by Clive Davis and moved to NYC to run Remix/Dance A&R for Arista, and later J Records / RCA Music Group, where he became the Vice President of A&R. Notable remixes under Hosh’s guidance include Whitney Houston‘s “It’s Not Right But It’s Ok”, Kelly Clarkson‘s “Since You’ve Been Gone” and “Because Of You”, Christina Aguilera‘s “Beautiful”, and Deborah Cox‘s “Nobody’s Supposed To Be Here”. Hosh has also established his own Dance/Electronica consultancy company, HOSHG.
