A STAKE IN NAVARRO’S PUBLISHING, MASTER REVENUE STREAMS, AND WRITER’S SHARE ROYALTIES
New York, NY (July 18, 2019) – Primary Wave Music Publishing announces yet another deal in what has been an already impressive month of acquisitions. In a deal that closed just this week, the company is thrilled to add Dave Navarro to its family of artists. Primary Wave will acquire a stake in the Grammy-nominated singer’s music publishing catalog, master revenue streams, and writer’s share royalties. Included in the deal are some of Navarro’s biggest hits as a songwriter such as Jane’s Addiction #1 smash “Been Caught Stealing” and their top 10 classic “Jane Says,” as well as the Red Hot Chili Peppers hit, “Aeroplane.”
“When I partnered up with Primary Wave, the first question they asked was ‘So, where would you like to see your music being heard?’. I had never before been asked for my artistic input from a corporate entity and I was instantly relieved to know that I had finally found a home for my catalog,” says Navarro. He continues, “This was something new and fresh. In addition to this being a team partnership, Primary Wave utilizes its resources to put my music in front of ears that would have otherwise never heard it. They protect their artists and their catalog.”

Dave Navarro is a critically acclaimed guitarist, singer, songwriter and actor. He is a member of the award-winning alternative rock band Jane’s Addiction and a former member of Red Hot Chili Peppers. Navarro has been described as “one of alternative rock’s first true guitar heroes” thanks to his eclectic playing that merges heavy metal, psychedelic and modern rock. In 1986, Navarro joined Jane’s Addiction as the lead guitarist and over the next five years they released three albums. In 1991 the band parted ways, playing their last show at Perry Farrell’s Lollapalooza Festival. Two years later, Navarro joined Red Hot Chili Peppers and released one album with the band, One Hot Minute. Dave continued to tour with both the Chili Peppers and Jane’s Addiction until 1998. He released a solo album in the summer of 2001 and toured in support of his debut for a year. The 2000’s would see Dave reunite with Jane’s Addiction, playing to sold out shows around the globe.
