GAITHER MUSIC EXECUTIVE TEAM TO LEAD GROWTH AND EXPANSION THROUGH NEW ARTIST DEALS AND ACQUISITIONS
NEW YORK, N.Y. (February 7, 2018) – Primary Wave Music Publishing continues their expansion, this time into the world of Gospel and Christian music, announcing today their partnership with Gaither Music Group. Considered to be one of the leading U.S. independent publishing companies, Primary Wave recently finalized the terms of the deal which will operate like a partnership moving forward. The executive team at Gaither will lead the expansion with Paul Sizelove staying on as President, Barry Jennings as Vice Chairman, and both Bill and Gloria Gaither continuing their creative roles within the company. Steve Moore, president of Moore Entertainment, brokered the conversation and will remain a consultant to the Gaither executive team. Under the terms of the deal, Primary Wave will add resources to help expand the Gaither brand and develop new artists, as well as acquire strategic catalogs and assets to expand the company. The current team at Gaither Music Group will now have access to the Primary Wave marketing team, branding team, digital team, publicity department, and publishing infrastructure which includes licensing and synch opportunities.
Gaither Music Group, which began with two songwriters working out of their home, has grown into an international music label, publishing company, Billboard-topping video production company, a long-running concert tour platform, and more than a dozen other entities. Considered to be one of the largest Christian music record labels, Gaither is known for its Gaither Gospel Series and is home to a broad array of performers who are household names in their format as well as newcomers. The roster includes award-winning artists such as the Gaither Vocal Band, Joey+Rory, David Phelps, newcomer Bradley Walker and more, including gospel projects by Josh Turner, Alabama and Alan Jackson. Under the Gaither umbrella, and included in this recent partnership, is Green Hill Music. A premium provider of lifestyle music including jazz, easy listening, Celtic and more, Green Hill Music is home to a variety of artists including Beegie Adair, David Arkenstone, Michael Omartian, Luke McMaster, Jack Jezzro and Orla Fallon as well as exclusive recordings by Jim Brickman, Olivia Newton-John and Mark Masri.
“We’ve accomplished a great deal over the years, but this relationship will bring wonderful opportunities to go beyond our current reach,” stated Gaither Music Group founder and gospel music legend Bill Gaither. “We are excited to be partnering with Primary Wave and have them help us take the universal message of our music to a broader audience. How thrilling at this stage of our lives to think that we have a chance to give these incredible songs and projects an expanded presence.”
“In the more than five decades that Gaither Music has been in business, they have proven themselves to be an exceptional and impressive music company,” says Lawrence Mestel, Founder & CEO of Primary Wave Music Publishing. He goes on, “When we look at companies to partner with and invest in, we are looking for teams with ambition, who want to be at the forefront of what’s happening in the industry, and we have found that with Gaither Music. We look forward to working together with Bill, Gloria, Paul, Barry and everyone else who make up the incredible Gaither Music Group and are excited about what’s to come.”
Bill, along with his wife, Gloria, are the core of Gaither Music. The iconic leadership of these multi-Grammy Award winners has made them a trusted voice for their generation and for future generations. Their recordings, which encompass more than 177 video copyrights, include 133 products which have been certified gold, platinum or multi-platinum. They have mentored countless young artists and provided a platform for emerging talent who, in turn, have also become influencers in a variety of musical genres. At the turn of the millennium, ASCAP named Bill and Gloria Gaither the Christian Songwriters of the Century because their songs had been recorded more than any other ASCAP artist in gospel music during the previous century.
