PRIMARY WAVE MUSIC PUBLISHING ACQUIRES
THE COPYRIGHT INTERESTS OF THE CATALOG OF PROLIFIC SONGWRITER STEVE EARLE
NEW YORK, NY, JUNE 27, 2007 — Primary Wave Music Publishing today announced that it has acquired the copyright, music publishing, and songwriter interests to the songs written by multiple Grammy Award-winner Steve Earle. The catalog includes such hits as “Copperhead Road,” “Guitar Town” and “The Revolution Starts Now.” The American singer/songwriter’s rock and country catalog is comprised of approximately 200 songs.
“Steve Earle is an American icon,” said Larry Mestel, Chairman and CEO of Primary Wave. “His songs are an amazing addition to our company and we couldn’t be more excited to be partnering with Steve on his fantastic catalog.”

Steve Earle's 12th studio album, “Washington Square Serenade,” will be released in the fall of 2007. Earle will appear in his recurring role, “Waylon,” in the final season for HBO's distinguished series, “The Wire,” and will be performing the season’s theme song. He is also currently writing his first novel for Houghton Mifflin.
