Watch Luther Vandross perform his ‘70s classic ‘Funky Music’ in unseen music video

 

Luther Vandross’ music still lives on after his death.

On May 31, Primary Wave Music, in partnership with Vandross’ estate, will release the official music video to the singer’s hit 1976 song “Funky Music (Is A Part of Me).”

The video features “unseen footage since the ’70s” of a then twenty-something-year-old Vandross at the Steel Pier Atlantic City show performing his classic hit on stage.

“Every time I hear funky music, I just can’t stand still,” Vandross croons. “I’ve got to move.

He continues, “Every time I feel my motor getting in gear, Funky music is somewhere near.”
