New York, N.Y. (April 14th, 2015) — GRAMMY® nominated singer-songwriter Deborah Cox releases her new single “More Than I Knewtoday on iTunes. Produced by Thaddeus Dixon, “More Than I Knew” is the first official single off the R&B artist’s upcoming, new album “Work Of Art,” which is slated for release on August 15, 2015 via Deco Recording Group / Primary Wave BMG. This new single is a classic R&B / pop ballad that showcases Deborah Cox’s powerful vocals and emotional lyrics about a woman reminiscing a lost love. “Work Of Art” will be Deborah Cox’s sixth studio album and will feature a mixture of beautiful ballads, up-tempo tracks and soulful dance songs, all with a positive, real message.

“’More Than I Knew’ is classic Deborah Cox. I know my audience wanted that classic Deborah sound and I knew the best person to produce my vocals is my long-time partner in song, Lascelles Stephens,” explains Deborah Cox. “He knows my voice and knows how to record my voice in a way that people ‘feel’ the performance. It was great to have Thaddeus’ backdrop musically. It enabled me to really hone in on the emotion and tell the story.”

In addition to Deborah’s new single and forthcoming sixth studio album, the Canadian beauty is also Broadway-bound again after landing the lead role of Josephine Baker in the new musical “Josephine,” which will chronicle the legendary singer Josephine Baker‘s life during a special & significant moment in her life (1939 — 1945). It is produced by two-time Tony Award-winner Kenneth Waissman, who produced the original Broadway production of Grease. The musical is scheduled to premiere in 2016. As another recent honor, Deborah Cox was also asked to record the vocals for the Whitney Houston songs that were used in the Lifetime biopic, “Whitney” that premiered Jan. 17, 2015 and received over 11 million views when it premiered.

Over the course of her successful career, Deborah Cox has conquered the R&B and pop charts, including six top-20 Billboard R&B singles, and an impressive twelve #1 hits on Billboard's Hot Dance Club Play chart. The Grammy-nominated singer has released 5 studio albums with her sophomore album, One Wish, bringing her mainstream after the world heard her double-platinum anthem, “Nobody's Supposed to Be Here“, which held the record for being the longest running #1 Single on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles chart for 14 consecutive weeks.

“’More Than I Knew’ showcases the versatile range and emotion of Cox’s crystalline vocals. You can feel the angst as Cox sings, ‘I miss you so much/ More than I ever loved you… Maybe I just loved you/ More than I knew.'” Billboard
